The Library and the Archive of the Franciscan Monastery contain materials in a variety of formats involving the Holy Land Franciscans and the early development of the monastery.

The archive houses materials such as photographs and scrapbooks that document life at the monastery, and the personal papers of Fr. Godfrey Schilling, the monastery’s founder. Digitized photographs from the archive are accessible at the Franciscan Monastery web site.

The catalogue of our holdings in the main library is also accessible on our web site and the catalogue of our holdings on the second floor has just begun. It is our hope that this project will be completed in a few years, for the benefit of members of the community and interested scholars, students, and others seeking to access these materials at the monastery.

If you are interested in finding out more about the collections at the Franciscan Monastery Library and in the Archive, please contact us.
