The travel experts at About.com have named the Gardens at the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land one of the 15 best gardens in the Washington, DC Capital Region. In her article, author Rachel Cooper noted that “The Washington, DC area has many beautiful public gardens with a wide variety of plants, trees, and flowers. These places offer seasonal displays and special programs to delight everyone from the casual visitor to the serious gardener. Each destination has something unique to see. Bring a camera and capture some of the region’s most colorful displays.” The gardens chosen are located in DC, Maryland and Virginia.
