The Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in America is pleased to announce its upcoming Annual Mass and Benefit Dinner to be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at the historic Franciscan Monastery in Washington, D.C. Join us as we honor His Excellency, Bishop Paul S. Loverde, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Arlington. In addition, we will be blessed with beautiful music by performers from The Magnificat Institute of Jerusalem – one of the many schools supported by the Franciscan Friars of the Holy Land.
This joy-filled evening unites the Friars of the Monastery with our supporters and benefactors who share a deep commitment to preserving this sacred corner of the Holy Land in the U.S. while also supporting ongoing efforts to sustain and promote the Franciscan and Christian presence in the Holy Land which is facing significant threats during this especially difficult time.
This year, we celebrate the 800th anniversary of Saint Francis’s poem, “The Canticle of the Creatures.” Saint Francis, our founder, inspired by his love for Christ and His creation wrote this poem of praise and thanksgiving for the marvels of God’s creation and for the depths of God’s love which connects all creation.
We invite you to join us for an evening of praise and thanksgiving beginning with Mass at 5:00 PM in our beautiful church. Arrive early so you can walk around our verdant gardens which, like St. Francis’s poem, sing the praise of God’s handiwork. After Mass, join us in St. Francis Hall for an evening of delicious food and lively conversation as we honor Bishop Loverde and enjoy The Magnificat Institute musicians: Fadi Sabat, Hadeel Sabat, Tetyana Beltser.
