8:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 12 noon (featuring the Schola Choir), and 2:00 p.m. (en español)

The Schola Choir sings at the Noon Mass every Sunday and is made up of about a dozen students from Catholic University and other Catholic colleges in the area. The choir emanated from the Monastery’s Praise Program founded by longtime friend of the Franciscans and Knight of Mount St. Sepulchre, the late Jerry Phillips, who worked for Washington DC’s NBC radio station. The Schola’s first several members were students from local Catholic high schools who began singing monthly at the Monastery’s 10 a.m. Mass in 2013.

Composer and conductor Jonathan Kirby, a graduate of Catholic University’s School of Music, directs the choir, which premieres Mr. Kirby’s original antiphons each week. They also sing motets ranging from composers like William Byrd and Thomas Tallis to Morten Lauridsen and David Willcocks. The Schola is accompanied by organist Terry Manspeaker.
