As we approach the Lenten season, we invite you to join the events at the Franciscan Monastery. We will begin this coming Sunday, February 15, by burning the palm branches in preparation for Ash Wednesday.
Start your Lent with the Franciscan Monastery. Mass and Ashes 6:00 a.m and 7:00 a.m Special celebration with the imposition of ashes at 12.10 p.m.
Join us at the Franciscan Monastery on Friday, March 20, and every Friday of Lent, for Holy Mass at 12:10 p.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. This Mass is celebrated in addition to the regularly scheduled 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. Masses.
Palm Sunday Mass - 11 am at the Franciscan Monastery main church
Mass in Coena Domini at 7:30 pm, followed by a procession to the Grotto of Gethsemane. The church will remain open until midnight for personal adoration.
Stations of the Cross in the lower gardens at 3:00 pm; Passion of the Lord at 3:45 pm in the church
This service is a solemn reenactment of The Burial of Christ and is very similar to the ceremony reenacted each year on Good Friday at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem.
