Lenten Prayer at the Monastery

In response to the DC Government’s request to close all non-essential businesses, the Monastery is closing the church through April. The upper & lower gardens will remain open every day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., along with the Portuincula Chapel which is open for private prayer only. On Good Friday, the lower gardens will remain open until 5 p.m.

For Catholics, the Lenten season is about recalling or preparing for baptism and adopting a penitential spirit. All are welcome to participate in an online burial service on Good Friday, April 10, at 7 p.m.
