Sometimes, even the smallest gesture is a catalyst for great works. The Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in America recently received a donation directed to the Franciscan friars working in and around Syria to assist Syrian refugees. The donation only amounted to $35 – a meager offering compared to the great needs and large population of refugees. This sum of money was gathered by employees of a Franciscan Mission located in Guaymas, Mexico, a place where typical wages only run about $5 per day. A true widow’s mite, this donation was made with great love and sacrifice. Thank you to all who assist the Franciscan friars to complete their work amongst the Syrian refugees and remember to pray for peace!
